Labour Day Weekend in Kuantan - Part 2

On our second day, Rafiq decided to jog to Teluk Cempedak and said that he’ll wait for us there. We left the hotel at about 8.45 a.m. after breakfast. There were not many people at the beach and the weather was extremely hot. Faiq and Aira played at the playground and went to see wild monkeys. We decided to skip mandi laut and since Rafiq had not had his breakfast, we went to Hoi Yin which is famous for its curry mee. It was almost 10.30 a.m. when we reached there but we still had to wait to be seated because the restaurant is always full. Luckily we got a seat outside because those who came out from inside the restaurant were sweating like they just came out from an oven.

After our so called brunch, we headed to East Coast Mall to look for a pharmacy as Jan was not feeling well. Ironically, there was none there and after getting directions from Ana, we we went to Guardian at Jalan Tun Ismail, near Mydin. We went back to the hotel, and decided to have a late lunch with Ida as we were still full from the curry mee brunch. At first, we wanted to eat at Singgalang Jaya, a Padang food restaurant but because most of the lauk were finished (what do you expect? It’s 2.30 p.m…DUHHHH!) we headed to Mok Naa. We had satar, keropok lekor, ABC, ketupat sotong, nasi dagang and ikan kembung/udang goreng tepung. Ida was starving by the time she arrived and we chatted. Most of the chats involves kutuk-ing each other..that’s how it is with me and Ida. Ida is from Kuantan and her first posting was in Kuantan. Now she is attached in KPKT but ironically, I see more of Ida in Kuantan rather than in KL.

Aanyways, after Mok Naa, we went to a beach (it wasn’t Pantai Sepat) and went back to the hotel. Ana sms-ed me to inform that she’ll be coming to visit us at the hotel at about 6. She brought along her three kids ~ Adam, Lala (Hannah Humairah) and Yaya (Nadia Nadhirah). Faiq was asleep when they came. Initially we thought of taking them to the pool but Faiq woke up rather late. Faiq and Adam hit it off quite well..thanks to Ultraman :o)

After Ana and her broods left at about 7 p.m., we got ready for an evening stroll at the Waterfront. Initially we wanted to take a night boat ride to see fireflies but Jan wasn’t feeling well so we headed to Berjaya Mall for a KFC dinner. That’s it for the day!
