Aidil Adha 1430H

Woke up at 6 a.m. on the morning of 10 Zulhijjah, prepared food for Aira and bathed Aira. Rafiq took care of Faiq and by 7.45 a.m. we made our way to Kajang.

When we arrived, Papa Lala and Mak Long already left for the mosque, Lachik was waiting for Jemi to get ready. Jemi ended up going to the mosque with Rafiq. I attended to Aira most of the time. She was not feeling well, crying and whinning most of the time. She didn't even want to sleep on the bed, she insisted on sleeping in my arms.

The guys came back from the mosque at about 9.30 a.m. Uncle Ghani and Aunty Nab also joined us. Papa gave his 'sermon' and Jemi was given the honour to deliver a speech. Next on the agenda was makan. Then, Kak Tine and I got ready to visit our parents. Lala need not rush to make a trip to Bota as Kak Liza's mom was away in Australia.

Ok, beratur nak salam!

We arrived in DU at about 12 noon. My Abang and his family arrived 10 minutes before us. Later, my grandmother came with my uncle, followed by G and his family. It was a full house this Aidil Adha. Faiq and Feera played like there's no tomorrow, Is kept to himslef, Aira kept on merengek and Ilham was very cheerful. In the evening, my uncle, G's in-laws and G's brother in-law came.

After we took a few family photos, it was time for us to leave, as we planned to watch Planet 51 at 8 pm. At first, we were afraid that Faiq might fall asleep in the cinema because he didn't sleep during the day but he was so excited that he was so wide awake and enjoyed the movie very much! We arrived home at 10.30 a.m.

Yup, gonna watch that

That's my Aidil Adha story. How's yours?

If This Post Has A Title It Will Be Every Swear Word You Can Think Of

You know how upset we are when we read about child abuse cases by maids?!

I was equally upset when I read about the latest case which happened to 8 months old Allysa Idrina Azizan in Tanjung Malim! And had an extra SUPER DUPER RAGE upon finding out that it happened to my friend's daughter!

I had tears in my eyes everytime I think about it! Imagine the trauma, shock and anger faced by my friend, Norhaidah Riboet @ Emon, upon watching the CCTV of the incident?!

I am upset all over again!!!

I know some of us here are equally guilty of maid abuse. But I think the percentage is so much smaller as compared to the case of them abusing our children.

And to think that the country where they hail from had the nerve to demand that their pay is RM800!

I hope and pray that Emon and her family will be strong in surviving this ordeal. I hope baby Allysa will recover soon. I know she will never remember what happened to her. But the scar and pain suffered by her family is unimaginable.

And to the animal that abused her, I hope she will burn in hell!! Hanya Allah saja yang dapat membalas perbuatan terkutuk itu!

I Thought Wrong

I thought I was going to be so damn late to work! I envisioned that I will clock in at 8.15 a.m. the earliest.

But I made it from AD-Kajang-Putrajaya in 45 minutes! Yeah! The effect of school holidays and people taking leave on Aidil Adha eve!

I can't blardy believe I have to attend a meeting at 3 p.m. today.

Salam Aidil Adha everyone! Be safe!

Faiq, Is & Feera's Fun Day @ KizSports

Today my family and I went to 1 Utama to join my brother and his family for our kids fun day at KizSports, One Utama. We had lunch at my parents house in DU before going there. We didn't bring Aira along as she was asleep. My sister, Dhirah was the designated babysitter for the day.

~Ultraman jugak yang dia nampak dulu

We bumped into my cousin and his family too. Small world, really!

Faiq and Feera played together whereas Is kept to himself most of time. He seemed to enjoy playing with balls rather than climbing and playing on the slides. As long as he is happy, we are all good :o)

~Love the colours

~My nephew, Ismail Zafree

~My niece, Noor Zafeerah Hanoum

~Fun slide!

~Happy nyer!

~Jumping, jumping!

~Swing, swing!

After spending almost two hours there, it was time to leave. Luckily, Faiq didn't have atantrum as we promised to give him an ice-cream treat. He was so tired of playing that he slept on the way to my parents house.

Dhirah didn't end up babysitting afterall as Aira was still asleep when we got back. Good girl!

Muahhhssss!

Lagu best yang didengar on the way to work this morning. Teringat cerita She's All That dan suatu ketika dahulu...

KISS ME
-SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER

Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress

Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So kiss me

Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map

Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So kiss me

One Fine Saturday

It's been a while since my family went to the beach so when Rafiq suggested that we go to PD this weekend, I agreed.

We left AD at 7 a.m., stopped for breakfast at Serdang and reached PD at about 8.15 a.m. Faiq couldn't wait to get into the water. Asked him to be extra careful because wind and wave were strong. Being Faiq, all he could think about is getting himself wet.

After Aira ate her breakfast, I changed her in a swim suit and brought her to the beach but unfortunately she was afraid of the waves and started crying.

I don't think I like the waves that much, Babah

It was a nice weather to be at the beach because it rained in the morning and slightly cloudy. But that only meant that our time at the beach was limited as the sky got darker at 10 a.m.

Finally managed to coax Faiq to get out of the water after 15 minutes of persuasion. We left PD at about 10.45 a.m. and headed to my parents house in DU.

I am supposed to be at Airis' birthday party right now but both Aira and Faiq were asleep when we reached AD so we had to pass. Sorry Tuya & Airis. Maybe next year ok!

Introducing Gazza & Liza's Bundle of Joy

On 8 November 2009, my childhood friend, Norkhalizah Khalis @ Liza gave birth to a 3.3kg healthy baby girl via emergency c-sect. The emergency c-sect was performed because the baby was 4 days overdue and had signs of distress. I took the opportunity to visit her with two of my high school friends, Zureen and Ja.

I arrived at the hospital about 15 minutes after Ja and Zureen came. Ja brought along Amir Harith, her second son, who shares the same birthday as Aira, 7 January 2009 :o)

As usual, when old friends meet, it will be pure havoc, even if it is in the hospital. Luckily there was no occupant in the next bed. But we did control our kekecohan because we had to be considerate towards Liza, who cannot enjoy the laughter as much as we do. Harith kept himself entertained but most of the time, Uncle Gazza did the babysitting job. Takpe..practice bro!

Gorgeous girl :o)

But I have to say that I envy both Zureen and Ja. Their freedom and flexibility. I wish I was like them..sigh!

After visiting Liza, we headed to Great Eastern Mall for a snack. After that, we said our goodbyes as we had other matters to attend to.

It is always good to meet up with old friends. I've known Liza since I was 7, Zureen since I was 10 and Ja since I was 13. They remind you of the best times of your life, during your childhood when everything was so simple, carefree and easy. And I felt better after talking and confiding in them. I hope we will still be friends in the long run and live to visit each other's grandchildren.

Friends For Life, insya-Allah

Love at First Taste

A year ago while I was pregnant with Aira, one of my cravings would be this...

Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte

I tried to stay away from caffeine when I was pregnant but this, I couldn't resist. I even had to stay away from Alamanda to fight the temptations. In my defense, I only started drinking coffee, this Toffee Nut Latte in particular, when it makes its annual appearance in conjunction with Christmas. TERBAIK if taken with Berry X'Mas Sandwich. Simply YUMMY!

Now it's back! Stay away, Yong!!

Scene Stealer

I was stuck in the traffic on the way back from work. Apparently there was an accident involving a car and a motorcycle in front of Serdang Hospital. Managed to listen to Red.fm Scene Stealer segment, where a sound from a movie soundtrack is played, as requested by the listeners. Today's song is one of my favourite cheezy song, from the soundtrack of Con Air.

HOW DO I LIVE - TRISHA YEARWOOD

How do I get through one night without you
If I had to live without you
What kind of life would that be
Oh I, I need you in my arms
Need you to hold
You're my world, my heart, my soul

If you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything good in my life
And tell me now

How do I live without you
I want to know
How do I breathe without you
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
How do I
How do I
Oh, how do I live

Without you, there'd be no sun in my sky
There would be no love in my life
There'd be no world left for me
And I, oh Baby, I don't know what I would do
I'd be lost if I lost you
I
f you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything real in my life
And tell me now

How do I live without you
I want to know
How do I breathe without you
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
How do I
How do I
Oh, how do I live

Please tell me baby
How do I go on

If you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything
Need you with me
Baby don't you know that you're everything good in my life
And tell me now

How do I live without you
I want to know
How do I breathe without you
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
How do I
How do I
Oh, how do I live

how do I live without you
how do I live without you baby
how do I live....

Newly crowned parents

Congratulations to my friends, Liza & Gazza on the birth of their daughter on 8/11/2009. The healthy baby girl weighs 3.3kg and was delivered via emergency c-sect. Hopefully I get to visit them soon.

Salam Takziah

Takziah to my UA81 classmate, Sharifah Fazlinda Shaik Ismail (ChePah) and family ke atas kepulangan ayahanda beliau ke rahmatullah, setahun selepas arwah ibu beliau menyahut seruan Ilahi.

Semoga roh arwah dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan di kalangan golongan yang beriman dan beramal soleh. AMIN.

Al-Fatihah..

Selamat Pengantin Baru Zaty & Kamarudzaman

Today I attended Zaty's wedding at Dengkil. Zaty was my classmate during A-Levels. She was one of the Convent girls...hehehe! She is also my next door neighbour in the noisy 3rd floor hostel.

I spent the night at D.U yesterday so Dida and I planned to meet up at KLIA since Ikram wanted to open an account with CIMB and one of the CIMB's operating on Sunday is at KLIA. The plan was to meet at 12.30 noon because Zaty's majlis bersanding was scheduled at 12.45 but I only arrived at KLIA at that time. Since I was the one who brought the map, I lead the way, although I did warn her that there are bound to be several U-turns as maps and I do not get along..haha!

I remembered making 1 U-turn and I think we were on the right track but the drive seemed so long, I wondered if we were heading at the right direction. Finally when we reached Kolej Teknologi Timur, I made a stopped, told Dida and Ikram that this bimbo cannot read maps and decided that Ikram should lead the way. Turned out that we were going the right way (~so I take back my bimbo confession~) and finally arrived at Zaty's house in Kampung Jenderam Hilir at 1.15 p.m.

Alhamdulillah, the groom's party also arrived late so we managed to chat with Zaty for a while and watch pengantin berarak. Aira cried when she heard the kompang. We all sat, ate and chatted..mostly about our kids. As much as I wanted to bitch about work, I can't do so due to circumstances. Managed to squash Kahlil, Dida's son who is so damn adorable! We stayed there for about an hour, took photos with the newlyweds and left at about 2.30 p.m.

Terry Fox Run 2009

Terrance Stanley "Terry" Fox, CC (July 28, 1958 – June 28, 1981) was a Canadian humanitarian, athlete, and cancer treatment activist. He became famous for the Marathon of Hope, a cross-Canada run to raise money for cancer research, which Fox ran with one prosthetic leg. He is considered one of Canada's greatest heroes and is celebrated internationally every September as people participate in the Terry Fox Run, the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research.
-From Wikipedia

Last Sunday, my husband and I participated in the Terry Fox Run 2009 at Lake Garden. This is my first time participating, but Rafiq's second. I didn't get to join last year because I was pregnant with Aira. We were also joined by my brother in-law, Feroz and Geng DP, Kak Eja, Wawa and Didi. Yang kelakarnya, Geng DP memula detour ke Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, thinking the event was held there. Nasib baik wa tepon!

Terry Fox 2009 t-shirt

Aanyways, alhamdulillah Geng DP made it on time, and sempat tengok pelbagai ragam orang yang participate. Young, old, bare foot, on bicycles, roller blades, with families, colleagues. Memang ramai orang. I saw JJ from Hitz.fm...ngeeee! Rafiq joined the Sarong Party Gang...as he did last year. this year the run was divided into 3.5km and 5km. It started at about 9 a.m.

Sarong Party Gang + Starbucks Baristas

Start jalan. Ramai kan participants?

All of us walked diikuti dengan aksi cam-whoring yang terlampau. We walked most of the journeys..except when our cameramen (Feroz & Did) were focusing on us..hahaha! Initially we wanted to do the 5km run but ended up doing 3.5km (except for Rafiq who were wondering where the heck we were...hahahah!) Didi sempat ajar Feroz teknik mengambil gambar lagi!

Macam-macam gaya

Apa yang penting??! ADA GAYA!!!

Tengah tunggu photography lessons abis daaaa!

Drawing and colouring competition for children

Dah jalan jauh kena makan lebih!!

We left Lake Garden at about 10.30 p.m. I think there were other activities. Yasmin Yusuf was the mc for the event and when we left there were dancers doing bhangra. I really had a great time!
